"An Introduction to the Wall Paintings in the Main Hall of the Horyuji Monastery" by Ichimatsu Tanaka, Benrido Publishing company, 1951; with color and black and white plates, along with a 24pp. paper booklet with yellow cover decoration and aqua binding ribbon; present are 32 of the 36 loose folio plates: 26 tipped-in color plates, two tipped-in b/w plates and the balance not tipped in; several have tissue guards, and some of the 36 folio plates have two smaller plates each; also with seven prefatory folio pages and an end page; all housed in a board folio with tan cloth spine/ corners, gilt spine lettering, a yellow/ beige cover with vine motif, red lettering and color illustrations of one of the plates; measures approximately 24-3/4" x 19"; covers worn and separating from spine, plates are in very good condition.
