Continental (likely French), late 19th century. An Art Nouveau enameled brass baluster (or urn) form mantle clock, with turned final accented by three acanthus splays, surmounted to three scrolled acanthus arms, body of domed baluster form with enameled lotus flowers and nouveau scrollwork throughout, with pierced floral gallery dividing domed element from main body, clock with white enamel face centered by hand painted decorative element, with black Arabic numerals on chapter ring, clock face with hinged and glazed door, clock element surrounded by pierced brass nouveau scrollwork, back with circular brass door to clock mechanism, body flanked on either side by pierced brass handles of organic scrolled form with a single flower to each, handles with figural attachment to body depicting bearded man in pointed hat, base with four splayed feet and fluer-di-lis design, apparently unmarked. Overall approximately 25" x 12" x 7.5".
