Ansonia (American, founded 1851), last quarter 19th century. Ebonized iron and gilt accented lion motif mantel clock with key, having shaped top, circular dial with glazed door, the dial with black Roman numerals, clock surmounted on either side by lion's mask drop ring handles, the whole with gilt incising. Marked to dial "Manufactured by Ansonia Clock Co New York, U.S.A.". Overall approximately 11" x 11.625" x 4.75". Provenance: from the Estate of a Prominent Interior Designer, Atlanta, Georgia.
