(23.5 x 31.5 cm), framed. Condition: Canvas trimmed, wax lined, and mounted to wood panel, retouch, fine craquelure, varnish inconsistencies, minor surface grime. N.B. This painting was reviewed via high resolution digital photographs by Dr. Fred Meijer of the RKD, who has confirmed its authenticity. A copy of Dr. Meijer's email accompanies the lot. Dr. Meijer notes that the composition is unusual for Alexander Adriaenssen, and he knows of no other example that includes a living bird. However, the signature and the handling are fully characteristic for the artist.
