Shaker Large Six-board Black Walnut Chest, possibly Ohio, top with stationary back, two hinges, three battens screwed under top, dovetailed sides, retains dark stain, small piece of the top on the left side cut away so that the chest could be fit into a corner, ht. 22 5/8, lg. 90 5/8, wd. 21 1/2 in. Provenance: Acquired at Canterbury where it was found in the building behind the Trustees' Office, along a short walkway.
