Framed Chart Relating to the Square-rigged Vessel Bounty 's Cruise from Oyster Bay, Long Island, to St. Petersburg, Florida, c. 1965, the chart marked to indicate the route taken, with typed note signed by the captain of the voyage Ross MacKay, certifying that Julian Roosevelt served as chief officer and was "of strictly sober habits," with ten period photographs showing the ship and crew, (rippling and soiling to chart, fading to photographs), overall 29 1/4 x 20 3/4 in. including frame. Note: The Bounty , built in 1960 for the purpose of filming the 1962 feature film Mutiny on the Bounty , was an enlarged reproduction of the famous (1787) ship HMS Bounty . The 1960 ship sank off the coast of North Carolina in Hurricane Sandy.
