Group of Eight Carved and Painted Wooden Puppets and Related Materials, Ortana, Pennsylvania, early 20th century, a black man, a skull, the devil, a burgler, three male characters, the mouth of an alligator, and various props for a magic act, a false beard, performer's costumes, and a wooden display stand. N.B. C.Z. Allen of Ortana, Pennsylvania inherted these puppets from his father who had made them and earned his living putting on shows.
