Carved Branch Sculpture of a Leaping Lady's Legs, John Wacher, Iowa, mid-20th century, the lower torso with plaid wrap, with stand, ht. 11 1/2, wd. 23 in. N.B. Wacher was a farmer and self-taught artist. Because his wife objected to this work, the wrap was added later. The legs were nonetheless banished to the barn. Provenance: Aarne Anton/American Primitive Gallery.
