Merrill Henry Bennett (b. 1908) Portrait of Stowe Railroad Engine 404 Pulling into the Station at Waterbury, Vermont. Signed u.r. Mixed media on paper, 19 3/4 x 98 in., framed. Condition: Tears, rippling, minor losses and tape residues to edges, creases, a few scattered fox marks, not examined out of frame. N.B. Bennett was a patient at Vermont State Hospital in Waterbury when he completed this work around 1950. Bennett's nurse used to bring him to the park across from the station to work.
