Brown Kestner Bisque Socket-Head Doll, late 19th/early 20th century, dark brown sleeping eyes, open mouth with molded teeth, coral-pink lip coloring, impressed mark 7 made in Germany C, new black caracal wig, jointed composition body (some repair, repaint), period eyelet dress and pinafore (stains), ht. 13 1/2 in. Literature: A similar example in Jan Foulke's KESTNER, KING OF DOLLMAKERS, p. 108, is described as "rare...very few appear in collections or on the market."
