Early Papier-mch} Shoulder Head Lady Doll with Apollo Knot Hairdo in Glassed Frame, c. 1830s, blue painted eyes, exaggerated hairstyle with knot and bow on top, cluster of curls to side (fine crack at neck, nose ding, overall soil), kid "milliner's model" body, wood limbs (one foot replaced), newly costumed in small brown plaid, sealed in glass front shadowbox, ht. of doll 15 in., overall frame size 19 1/2 x 15 x 5 in.
