Painted Shaker Pail, probably Enfield, New Hampshire, mid/late 19th century, convex birch handle with four scribed lines on wire bail, tongue and groove staves and iron hoop construction, "coffin" bail plates, old grain painted exterior with gilt stenciled floral and foliate decoration, the interior painted white, black painted hoops and bail plates, (paint wear, joining slightly loose), ht. 11 1/2, dia. 9 in.
