Noah North (American, 1809-1880) Two Portraits on Panel. The reverse of both panels read "1834 Holley," and are signed "Noah North." The female portrait reads "Mrs. Elizabeth Danon Born. 180...," and "No. 37"; the male portrait reads "Stephen Powers born at Damascotta New Castle Lincoln Co. Maine June the 1st 1814," and "No. 41," both on the reverse. Oil on panel, 27 3/4 x 23 in., in molded gilt frames. Condition: Both retouched, varnish inconsistencies, scattered craquelure. N.B. North worked in Holley, New York, from 1834-37 before moving to Ohio.
