William Frederick Settle (British 1821-1897) Shore View with Topsail Schooner. Monogrammed "WFS" l.l., ship of the line shown in the left distance with sails furled. Mixed media including watercolor and graphite on paper, sight size 8 3/4 x 12 1/2 in., framed. Condition: Scattered foxmarks, fading, light toning, not examined out of frame. N.B. Settle was the marine painter for the Royal Scottish Yacht Club, and also executed works for Queen Victoria and the Prince Regent.
