Peterson Copenhagen 1840"l.r., titled l.l., ship identified on pennant and bow, shown broadside and stern, verso with artist's preliminary sketch in graphite and watercolor. Mixed media including watercolor, gouache, and pencil, 20 x 27 in., in gilt frame. Condition: Tape residues u.c. edge, tape and glue residues to reverse, foxing to reverse, overall toning. N.B. The Oronoco was the last three-masted square-rigged vessel launched in the upper reaches of the Piscataqua Valley for the Port of Dover, New Hampshire.
