Liverpool Pearlware Jug, England, early 19th century, black transfer printed, obverse, an American eagle with a ribbon in it's beak, inscribed "E. Pluribus Unum," with fifteen scattered stars above it's head; reverse, a vignette of an embracing couple; depicted beneath the spout is a fleet of sailing vessels, the rim is decorated with scattered blossoms, black enamel highlights on the rim, shoulder and handle edges, (minor imperfections), ht. 6 1/4 in.
