Ottoman Lacquered-Wood Quadrant, dated A. H. 1320-A.D. 1902/03, finished in yellow-brown with ink divisions and inscriptions, the front with markings for 41o latitude (Istanbul/Constantinople), the reverse with various curves for problem solving and for finding the time of afternoon prayer, each side with cartouche of instructions, radius 14 7/8 in.
