Chippendale Cherry Chest on Chest, Connecticut, c. 1770-80, the top section with flat molded cornice above a case of three thumb-molded short drawers and four graduated long drawers set into lower section of three long drawers on ogee bracket feet, replaced brasses, refinished, (restoration), ht. 9 1/4, wd. 38 1/4, dp. 19 in. Provenance: This chest on chest was found in the Josiah Benton house in Glastonbury, Connecticut, in the early 1950s.
