Attributed to Joseph H. Davis (American, ac. 1832-1838) Portrait of a Lady in a Blue Dress. Unsigned. Watercolor, ink, and pencil on paper, the lady is depicted holding a book and a purse and is standing on a fanciful patterned floor cloth, 7 x 9 in., framed. Condition: The figure has been cut out and laid down, a 3/4-inch tear, creasing, two of scattered fox marks, small area of craquelure, toning, and a few small holes in floor area.
