Federal Mahogany Inlaid Reverse Serpentine Slant-lid Desk, North Shore, Massachusetts, 1795-1815, the slant lid opens to an interior of small drawers and valanced compartments which flank the inlaid prospect door with crossbanded inlay opening to three small drawers, above a case of four graduated cockbeaded drawers, the top one of which is arched, upon shaped bracket feet, original brasses, old surface, (repairs and losses), ht. 43, wd. 41 3/4, dp. 23 5/8 in.
