Asa Cheffetz (American, 1897-1965). "Self Portrait" - 1919, etching on wove paper, fourth state, unknown edition, pencil inscribed lower left margin "State IV", pencil signed and dated lower right margin. A self portrait of the artist depicting the young man wearing a page boy cap and drawing on a small tablet held in his hands as he looks at the viewer (to be read as studying himself in a mirror), the wall behind him with several figural portraits. Framed approximately 14.5" x 12.375". Image size approximately 4" x 3.5". Provenance: From the Private Collection of Benno & Babette Rothschild, Columbus, Georgia. Note: Asa Cheffetz was a member of the Associated American Artists.
