Mochaware Can and Saucer, England, c. 1785, creamware can and saucer, each banded in blue with black slip-filled checkered rouletting, engine-turned ribs in the well of the saucer and on the lower portion of the can, entwined extruded handle terminating with exceptional foliation, (a few minor chips, hairline), can ht. 2 1/2., saucer dia. 5 in. Exhibitions: Colonial Williamsburg 1993-94 and in The Art of the Turner, at the Jones Museum of Ceramics and Glass, Sebago, Maine, 1996.
