William W. Kennedy, (American, 1818-after 1870) Portraits of Mr. and Mrs. E. Peace. Inscribed "E. Peace by W.W. Kennedy 1847 Presented by L. G. Hill Great Falls," on the reverse. Oil on canvas, depicting half-length portraits, the man with dark suit and vest, the bespectacled woman wears a white lace cap and collar and is seated before a red velvet drape, oil on canvas, sight size 22 3/8 x 19 3/8 in., in molded giltwood frames. Condition: Stretchers replaced, retouch, the portrait of the woman lined, varnished.
