Walter Williams (American/Danish, b. 1920) Moon Moth, 1968, edition of 12. Signed and dated "1968 Walter Williams imp" in pencil l.r., titled in pencil l.c., numbered "8/12" in pencil l.l. Color woodcut on paper, image size 17 1/8 x 18 3/4 in. (43.5 x 47.6 cm), unmatted, unframed. Condition: Margins over 2 inches, nicks and tears to edges (primarily to left and lower edges). N.B. Williams began his studies in art after World War II at the Brooklyn Museum's school, working with Ben Shahn among others. His prints were included in Narratives of African American Art and Identity: The David C. Driskell Collection at the Art Gallery at the University of Maryland (and subsequent venues), 1998.
