Sold for:
$264

Three Models of Early Aircraft, a stylized Wright airplane, with 20-inch wingspan and front-mounted rudder; a model of the first Wright Flyer with 15-inch wingspan; and a model of a Lilienthal glider. Note: According to documents from the Institution the first model is said to be by the Wrights and a model of Calbraith Perry Rodger's "Vin Fiz," the plane used in his 1911 Trans-continental flight, and was donated to them in 1917. It is obviously not the same plane as he used, but there is no other indication of which it may be.
