Continental School, Late 18th/Early 19th century. Devotional painting of Madonna & Child finely painted on a mother of pearl ovular disc, with the Madonna in dark blue robes holding a seated Christ on her right leg dressed in red robes, with painting on verso in an unrolled scroll form of the bust of crucified Jesus wearing the crown of thorns. Painting is encased in a deep brass pendant. Approximately 2.5" tall.
