Brass Equinoctal Ring Dial, by Le Maire, Paris , with sliding steel cursor and brass suspension ring, dia. 5 in.; the meridian ring is divided 0-90 in two quadrants and engraved with the latitudes of ten European cities: Strasbourg 48.55, Londres 51.31, Dunquerque 51, Marseille 43.19, Dijon 47.20, St. Malo 48.38, Malte 36, Milan 45.25, Nancii 48.40, Madrid 40.20; the hour ring is engraved in Roman numerals I-XII-I in fifteen minute divisions, the inner rim with Arabic numerals, and the reverse with latitudes of Copenhague 55.46, Gand 51.3, St. Dominique 17.38, L'amartinique 14.43, Js le Maurice 20.30, Lima 12.15, Kebet 46.55, Js. le Defer 28.3, Stockholm 59.20, Moscow 55.36; the bridge, with sliding pin-hole cursor, pivoting on foliate-engraved axis, is marked with calendar months and with the zodiacal calendar on the reverse.
