Hemingway, Ernest (1899-1961), Autograph letter signed, Madrid, [undated], three pages, to Charles Thompson, referencing many mutual friends, boating, the publication of his new book, and firearms, 4to, (creased). Text in part: Pauline got a grand letter from Lorine telling about how your were again revived by a lot of doctors & the full time Rod holding doctor sounds about the worst - although the citizen that laid down the rod when you went to gaff the tarpon wasn't bad./We ought to have a rule that no one with any handle to their name should be allowed on board a boat except those legitimate Doctors Thompson, Pierce, Passos and Hemingway./Got a letter from Dos Yesterday that he and Kate were married! Don't you think that's fine?...We left Galicia and came here by way of Palencia. Saw two fine bull fights there...I suppose my book will be out in another month. Hope it will support all my numerous relatives, offspring, furnish us transport and buy a boat too.
