Oil on canvas, the man is seated on a fur robe in a green painted sleigh striped with yellow, drawn by a black horse across the winter landscape, with houses in the background, 21 5/8 x 33 1/2 in. (sight), framed. Condition: Good, unlined, re-varnished, minor craquelure. Note: Thomas K. Van Zandt is known as a portrait and animal painter, active in Albany, New York, from circa 1844 until after 1860.
