Hermenegildo Anglada-Camarasa (Spanish, 1873-1959) Study for Girls of Burriana Signed "H. ANGLADA-CAMARASA" l.r. Oil on panel, 21 3/8 x 15 3/4 in. (54.3 x 40.0 cm), unframed. Condition: Scattered retouch (primarily near edges), curve to panel, craquelure. Provenance: Purchased from Gomensoro & Castells, Uraguay, Importante Pinacoteca sale, lot 60, June 1981. N.B. The Girls of Burriana can be found in the collection of The Hispanic Society of America in New York. Their piece shows the same model posed as she is here wearing the same earrings and hair style. These similarites suggest that this piece was painted between 1910 and 1911.
