Early Carved Wooden Articulated Doll, Germany, c. 1820, small delicate face, brown painted eyes, eyelash dots, single-stroke brows, rosy coloring, pierced ears (pendants missing, small nose and chin rub), very high forehead, painted black tendrils surround face, remains of wig cap, fully articulated wood body jointed at shoulder, elbow, hips, and knees, (left thumb chipped), bust, lower arms and legs painted, red slippers, in original chemise and corset with gauze lace and light blue silk ribbon trim, ht. 11 1/2 in.
