Set of Four Federal Mahogany Side Chairs, Boston, Massachusetts, or Portsmouth, New Hampshire, c. 1800, the square backs with scratchbeading enclose three pierced splats above trapezoidal shaped over upholstered seats and square tapering front legs outlined in stringing and joined by square stretchers to the raked rear legs, refinished, (one chair with a pierced rear stile), ht. 35 1/2, seat ht. 18 in.
