Grain Painted Pine, Satinwood and Mahogany Veneer Tall Case Clock, New Hampshire, early 19th century, the molded broken pediment supports three brass finials above the arched glazed bonnet door with engaged columns which opens to a painted metal dial with floral and gilt spandrels and a similar central reserve with an eight-day weight driven brass movement above the satinwood inlaid waist door on a similarly inlaid molded base with side graining, old surface, (movement possibly of different origin), ht. 88 1/2 in. Note: Dial signed in script on reverse "John Minot 207". According to The Book of American Clocks by Brooks Palmer, NY, 1959 p. 243, " J. Minot, Boston, c. 1800-1810 painted dials."
