Silkwork and Watercolor Mourning Picture, "Wrought by Mary Mirick, AE14. ," second quarter, 19th century, silk threads on a silk ground with watercolor background, facial features, and hands, depicting a woman leaning against an urn-topped sarcophagus pointing heavenward, with a weeping willow tree, distant church, and houses, the monument inscribed "To the memory of Benj'n Mirick Jr. who died Sept. 25, 1805 aged 20 months./Benj'n Mirick 3rd who died Oct. 13, 1806. Aged 11 months./Mrs. Sarah Mirick who died Oct. 8 1825. Aged 45 years.," (imperfections), 17 x 19 1/ 2 in., under eglomise glass with maker's name inscribed in gilt lettering, in a gilt gesso frame.
