Fruitwood Gunter's Quadrant, England, 18th century, with incised lines and punched characters, divided 0-90 , the calendar scale with dates of the solstices marked with fleur-de-lis, the horary quadrant with locations of five bright stars, also listed in the shadow square, with one two brass pinhole sights and hole in side for plumb-bob storage, radius 5 1/2 in. The named stars are given as follows: PW for Pegasus, Arc for Arcturus, Lh for lion's heart/Regulus, Be for bull's-eye/Aldebaran and Vh for vulture's eye/Altair.
