Rose Mandarin Variant Porcelain Punch Bowl, China, 19th century, large round punch bowl, the interior centered with a round reserve with figures in a courtyard, wide medial band depicting several more courtly figures and landscape, the rim band ornamented with flowers, fruit, and butterflies; the exterior features a rim band with a frieze of more courtly figures above large and small geometric reserves alternately containing courtly figures and two figures with Chinese inscriptions in the background, all against a background with flowers, birds, and butterflies, gilt highlights, (minor gilt and enamel wear), ht. 5 7/8, dia. 12 5/8 in.
