Burlwood and Inlaid Cigar Box, late 19th century, rectangular, with serpentine front, inlaid with brass outlining and cartouches, with ebony and mother of pearl accents, interior fitted with four cigar slides and a drawer, ht. 7 3/8, wd. 10 3/4, dp. 7 1/4 in. Provenance: Dr. Gustave Aufricht, a prominent and pioneering plastic and reconstructive surgeon, who helped establish America's first Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.
