Sketchbook of Hudson River Landscapes, by Helen Pettit Barker, New York State, late 19th century, the hardcover bound sketchbook with twenty-four sketches done in graphite on paper, several on shaded colored paper, most with titles, including "On the Hudson", "Canadaway," "Chautaqua Lake, Fair Point," "Thousand Islands: On the Hudson," etc. , 9 3/4 x 12 3/4 in. Note: Helen Pettit Barker was the wife of Darwin R. Barker who donated his home to the village of Fredonia, New York to be used as a public library.
