Platinum and Diamond Necklace, Marianne Ostier, c. 1950, designed as floral motifs, centering an old European-cut diamond weighing approx. 2.00 cts., further set with old European, full, single, and baguette-cut diamonds, approx. total wt. 18.55 cts., separating to form a bracelet and tiara, lg. 14 1/4 in., unsigned, (without findings for tiara conversion). Note: For a similar example, see Marianne Ostier, Jewels and the Woman, plate 23. Marianne Ostier emigrated to America from Austria in 1938 with her husband Oliver. Ostier Inc. quickly became one of New York's top jewelry firms. She won many awards including the Diamond USA award and the Diamond International Award. She was the first lifetime member inducted into the Diamonds International Academy.
