E & W. Bennett Pottery White Terra-cotta Griffin Fern Stand, Baltimore, Maryland, c. 1900, in the renaissance revival style, designed by Herbert W. Beattie for the St. Louis World's Fair in 1904, the trefoil-shaped bowl mounted atop three standing griffins on a scrolled triangular base, ht. 32 1/2 in. Note: Similar example in the collection of the Maryland Historical Society.
