Yuri Pavlovich Annenkov (Russian, 1889-1974) Still Life with Fruit and Flowers Unsigned. Oil on canvas, 32 x 21 1/4 in. (81.3 x 54.0 cm), framed. Condition: Retouch, varnish inconsistencies, craquelure, surface grime. Provenance: Acquired directly from the artist, then by descent to the current owner. N.B. Yuri Pavlovich Annenkov was born in Russia and studied at the University of St. Petersburg and worked in a number of artists' studios in both Russia and Paris. After Annenkov's visit to Paris, he returned to Russia and became part of the Avant-Garde movement. His art was influenced by traditional Russian folk prints, Cubism, and theater. Creating collages, set designs, graphic portraits, and paintings, Annenkov participated in many exhibitions and published books of his portraits.
