Plains/Prairie "Missouri War Axe," c. mid-19th century, the blade with heart cutout and five-point metal star inlay on one side, the round handle (possibly Osage orange wood), with brass tacks and one incised arrow device, patina of use, (part of the handle appears to have been polished down), handle lg. 21, head lg. 7 3/4 in.
