Antonio Nicolo Gasparo Jacobsen (American/Danish, 1850-1921) Portrait of the Clyde Line Steamship S. S. Apache. Signed and dated "A. Jacobsen West Hoboken, NJ 1904" l.r., the vessel identified on the bow and pennant. Oil on canvas, 29 1/2 x 49 1/2 in., unframed. Condition: Relined, repaired tears, scattered retouch primarily to sky and hull. Note: The Clyde Steamship Company's S.S. Apache was the first to establish a direct passenger service between New York and Miami.
