August Edouart (French/American, 1789-1861) Double Silhouette Portraits of a Mother and Son. Indistinctly signed "Aug. Edouart fecit 1840" l.l., the subjects names indistinctly inscribed on the reverse "Mrs. John Li-------s" and "Master John P. Lin-------s." Cut paper pasted on paperboard, depicting a full-length profile portrait of a woman holding a fan and a boy holding his hat, 8 1/2 x 5 1/4 in., in a painted mitered wood frame. Condition: Toning, minor foxing.
