Alphonse Neumans (British, fl. 1873-1889) On the Way to Church Signed and dated "Alph. Neumans...1874" l.r., titled on a presentation plaque. Oil on canvas, 32 1/4 x 44 1/2 in. (81.9 x 113.0 cm), in a period frame. Condition: Lined, retouch, craquelure, flaking with losses. N.B. Neumans lived in Yorkshire and exhibited several works at the Royal Academy in London.
