Smith Binocular Dissecting Microscope, of lacquered brass, with rackwork focusing, dovetailed arm supporting symmetrical binocular tubes, prism, prism-housing engraved Swift & Sons, 81 Tottenham Ct. Rd., London W.C. , maker's 2-inch objective, rectangular stage with stage clips, curved hand-rests, iris diaphragm and plano/concave mirror, on turned tapering brass legs, ht. closed 11 1/2, (one eyepiece missing, the other no longer fits tube, focusing wheel out of alignment), in fitted mahogany case, wd. 13 1/2 in. Literature: Gerard L'E Turner, The Great Age of the Microscope , pp. 190, 191. Lacquer good, optics untested, both tubes slightly distorted so that the eyepiece no longer fits. There are no additional accessories.
