Rare Pair of Small French Silver-Mounted Pocket Pistols, c. 1771-80, with left and right-hand locks, Paris silver imported stamps, barrels in four stages, rifled over half their length and decorated with gilt foliage, the breeches punched and engraved with foliage on a gilt ground, engraved flat locks, figured walnut stocks carved with rococo ornament behind the barrel tang, finely-chased silver mounts, scrolling side plates, trigger-guards decorated with rocailles, and spurred pommels decorated with differing designs of hunting and martial trophies and fitted with classical warrior caps, 6 11/16 in., (much original finish on barrels).
