Edward Clark (American, 1912-2000) Graham Jackson, Navy Bandsman, at President Roosevelt's Funeral. Unsigned, stamped "STEFAN LORANT COLLECTION" and identified in an inscription on the reverse. Gelatin silver print, mounted, image size 10 3/4 x 13 3/4 in. (27.3 x 34.9 cm), unframed, matted. Condition: Creases, craquelure. N.B. This iconic image was taken in 1945 in Warm Springs, Georgia, at President Roosevelt's funeral. Clark spotted the accordionist weeping as he was playing Roosevelt's favorite song, "Goin' Home." It appeared in the April issue of Life magazine, and soon became an emblematic image of the grieving nation.
