Rembrandt Harmensz van Rijn (Dutch, 1606-1669) Self Portrait Drawing at a Window, 1648, probably a late 18th century impression (Hind, 229; Bartsch/White & Boon, 22 v/v). Signed and dated in the plate, identified on a label from Otto Lambert, New York, on the reverse. Etching on paper, image size 6 1/4 x 5 1/8 in. (16.0 x 13.0 cm), framed. Condition: Margins trimmed to or within the plate mark, staining, not examined out of frame. The work was partially removed from its frame; enough to confirm that it is adhered to support at corners, but not laid down. There is staining to the left side (very visible in the white areas of the window). The work is trimmed along or within the plate mark.
