Louis XVI Bronze and Marble Figural Mantel Clock, late 18th/early 19th century, movement by Gille, Paris, marked on the enamel dial, two train half striking movement, dial set into marble plinth topped by drapery and a wounded dove, flanked by a figure of a classical lady taking another dove from the hands of Cupid, the rectangular base with leaftip band, further drapery, and paw feet, ht. 12 1/2, wd. 9 5/8 in., dp. 4 1/2 in. metal with age darkening, and some minor spots of pitting. a few old, marble with cracks to plinth at both sides, and minor fleabites to edges. Minute hand loose. Lacking key and pendulum. needs a cleaning.
